Maris, founder of M. Woods Interiors, is a Georgia native who grew up in Athens before continuing her education at Towson University in Baltimore, where she earned a degree in Communications. Her career began in Country Club Management and Event Coordination, where she developed a deep appreciation for the creative details that transform spaces and experiences.

Inspired by the design elements of the event industry, Maris discovered a passion for creating beautiful, functional environments. After nearly seven years in Maryland, she returned to Athens to further pursue that passion, studying Interior Design at Athens Technical College. With a well-rounded background spanning upholstery and textiles, window treatments, and custom cabinetry design, Maris brings a thoughtful, detail-driven approach to every project. Her work is rooted in creating refined, livable spaces that reflect each client’s unique style while maintaining a sense of timeless elegance.

Outside of her work, Maris enjoys spending time with her husband, their daughter, and her bonus daughter. She loves cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and spending time outdoors at their home in Winterville.
